Accountant

Camden Redevelopment Agency is seeking an accounting professional with government/public finance experience.  Duties include: the preparation, operations, and auditing of accounts; preparing financial statements and bank reconciliations; reviewing various financial transactions and records for conformance with regulations and established accounting procedures, including check disbursements, journal entries, purchase orders, and performing related duties.   Minimum Qualifications:  graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, including 21 semester hour credits in professional accounting subjects.  Two years of experience is preferred.  Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software as well as experience with Edmunds/GovTech financial accounting software is preferred.  Please submit your cover letter, resume, and salary requirements to:  carhodes@camdennj.gov

Graduate and Legal Internship Opportunities

Position Type:                Part-Time, Fall, Spring, and Summer opportunities are available.

Hours Required:             Interns may work up to 20 hours per week. Hours are scheduled with the supervising
                                         staff member.
 
Job Description:             The City of Camden Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has immediate opportunities for
                                          interns to support commercial, housing, institutional development, environmental
                                          clean-up and property asset management operations.   Successful candidates will
                                          develop an understanding of issues relating to property acquisition and development
                                          as well as a unique blend of legal, strategic communication and business
                                          experience, draft agreements and board resolutions, attend meetings of the City
                                          Council and CRA Board of Commissioners, propose marketing strategies and
                                          materials, work with decision-makers and learn how to resolve issues. 
 
                                           Interns will gain exposure to: 
                                             §  Land Assemblage/Development
                                             §  Urban Commercial, Housing, and Institutional Projects
                                             §  Brownfields and Environmental Revitalization
                                             §  Financial Institution Financing
                                             §  Zoning
                                             §  Tax Credits
